Riverfront Rendezvous: Concessions Fundraising / Signup

Riverfront Rendezvous

The City of Stevens Point provides a wonderful fundraising opportunity to the Crystal Ice Figure Skating Club to sell soda during the Riverfront Rendezvous 4th of July Celebration—July 1st – 3rd. Skaters will receive credit for each 3 hour shift they work. This is optional and not part of the club’s required volunteer hours.

April: Club Updates

Registration for our Spring/Summer Specialty classes closes today. If your skater is interested in some, or all, of these classes please register here

Spring Ice Packages begins tonight at the Ice Hawks Arena. Walk-on opportunities are available for packages with less than 15 skaters. Please make sure you are familiar with our Walk-On policy before bringing your skater to the rink. For Spring and Summer packages, a skater must be registered for at least one date to be eligible to walk on. The package schedule and rink monitor assignments are available here. The Spring ice schedule is set. There will be no refunds or transfers for dates that skaters are unable to attend.

Thank you!

Ice Show 2022: Volunteer Sign-Up / Updates

The Ice Show Volunteer Sign-Up is available here. Just a reminder that there is a $50 an hour fee for any volunteer hours not completed (4 hours for one skater, 6 hours for multiple skaters). Each family, whose skater is participating, must complete one hour of time at the ice show (2 hours for multiple skaters). Ice Show picture day hours do count towards your Ice Show requirements. All hours must be completed or paid for prior to being eligible to register for any Spring/Summer ice. If no Spring/Summer ice is requested, the fee will need to be paid before your skater is eligible for package ice in the fall.

COVID & Safety

For those families not enrolled in Learn to Skate, this reminder was sent from Ann Hylla, Programs and Facility Supervisor, this week:

Hello Families,

Our Learn to Skate winter session got off to a great start tonight. Thank you for choosing to skate with us!

Just a quick note about safety in the rink.

With so many children, parents, and grandparents in the building during our skating lessons, we ask that if any member of your household has Covid or symptoms of Covid, please keep all your family members home for the recommended recovery period.

Also, City of Stevens Point masking policy states: Masking is required, unless vaccinated, in City owned buildings.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Anne

Holiday Club Updates & Reminders

A few club reminders:

  • Dress Exhibition January 3rd 6:00-8:00. We ask that you wear masks. US Figure Skating requires this at all sanctioned events. Please share this with any friends or family you invite.
  • We have had some families express concerns with the walkway to the Willet doors being used as a driveway to drop off or pick up skaters. Since this path is so close to the doors that our skaters enter and exit, some feel unsafe having cars use that during our package ice. Please take that into consideration with bringing your skater to the rink.
  • The CDC has updated its Covid guidelines. The board is asking members to be aware of the guidelines and help us keep our skaters safe and on the ice.

We hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.

Dress Exhibition: Announcers / Volunteers Found!

Announcers Found! THANK YOU!

Hello Club Members!

Thank you for your consideration to announce at our upcoming annual Dress Exhibition.

We do have two members who have graciously agreed to fill the shift.

Remember that there will be concessions so tell your friends and family to join us on January 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and cheer on their skater!

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Merry Christmas!

Test Session / High School Competition: Winter Weather Update

We have been working so hard to prepare for our Test Session and High School Competition set for tomorrow at the Willet.

Our plan is to move ahead with the event, as planned, as long as our judges are able to get here. We have three flying in this evening and one driving. I will update you as soon as we confirm they have arrived. Since the club is running this event, we are not affected by the school district cancelling activities for today and tomorrow.

Reminders- masks are required. Please help us set a good example. Concessions will be available. Locker rooms will NOT be open, please dress accordingly. Thank you so much to all of our volunteers. This event would not be possible without you.

I will notify the club via email and Facebook once I know more. Fingers crossed!

Jill
