Biographical Info
Katie has been skating since the age of three and was a proud member of the Stevens Point Crystal Ice Figure Skating Club throughout her entire competitive skating career. Katie began coaching in 2005 and has continued to provide independent individual skating instruction to local figure skaters and hockey players. She has seven years experience coaching synchronized figure skating, and has also instructed with the local learn to skate program throughout her career. Katie is currently the head coach of the Stevens Point Area Figure Skating High School Team, and she loves getting to share her knowledge and passion with the skaters in a team environment.
Katie had a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Biology. She enjoys incorporating her science background occasionally into her skating instruction. Katie is a member of the United States Figure Skating Association and Professional Skaters Association (PSA) continuing education certified.
Katie loves working with students who share her passion for skating and who enjoy working hard to enhance their skills. Katie places high importance on technique, edge quality, power and presentation. She tailors her instruction to each individual skater to provide the most positive and beneficial experience.
