Biographical Info

Katie has been skating since the tender age of 3 years old and is proud to coach at the rink and club that fostered her love for the sport. Katie received her senior gold level status in both freestyle and moves in the field and has an extensive competitive history including Upper Great Lakes Regionals at both the junior and senior level. She began teaching through the local Learn to Skate program and became a private instructor in 2006.  During that time, she had the opportunity to learn from distinguished coaches such as Lynda Schrader, Laura Sanders, and Robert Mauti along with attending numerous conferences and seminars to expand her knowledge. She had a passion for working with skaters at a grassroots level, and thus took over as Director for the local Learn to Skate program and Ice Show.  Katie also has over 25 years of dance experience in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and choreography and trained under professional dancers. She received a minor in dance through the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and has over 8 years of teaching experience. Katie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and her Masters Degree in Nursing from Marquette University.  Katie is a member of the United States Figure Skating Association and the Professional Skating Association. Other certifications include First Aid, CPR, and AED.
